Reports to: Child Watch Coordinator
Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time
Pay Range: Starting at $15.50/hour
Position Summary: The Child Watch Attendant is responsible for the care and safety of children in the Child Watch and InterGen rooms. Child Watch staff should be hands-on and provide a caring and positive environment for children who enter these spaces.
Essential Functions:
- Greet all children/parents upon entering/leaving the room.
- Provides a safe and positive experience for children in the program
- Actively engaging and playing with children at their level while in our care.
- Completes daily cleaning of toys and surface areas.
- Wears appropriate attire and name tag on a daily basis.
- Guides new parents through our sign-in and out procedures.
- Monitors areas of room for safety and cleanliness, notifying appropriate staff of assistance needed.
- Attend in person trainings and online coursework on child abuse and prevention.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations and follow mandated reporter requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Previous experience working with children a plus.
- Must have capacity to make decisions and communicate effectively with participants, parents and other staff.
- Applicants must have, or obtain, First Aid/CPR certification within the first 60 days of employment.
Physical Demands: Must be energetic and able to handle the physical demands of the job. Standing, walking, talking and active listening are other demands of the position. Employees must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
