Payroll Specialist

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Pay: $25-$27/hour

Position Summary:
The Payroll Specialist’s primary responsibility is to oversee and facilitate payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in accordance with government regulations

Essential Functions:

  1. Implements, maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes and other deductions.
  2. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including hires and terminations, and pay rate changes.
  3. Prepares and maintains accurate records of payroll transactions.
  4. Reconciles payroll reports for accuracy.
  5. Identified, investigates and resolves discrepancies in timesheets and payroll records.
  6. Maintains employee records related to payroll data.
  7. Provides relevant payroll reports to accounting department for review.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Degree or certification in Accounting, Human Resources or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably with Paycom.
  3. Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  4. Must have good interpersonal and communications skills.
  5. Strong oral and written skills with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  6. Must possess the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner and exhibit good judgment.
