The City of Warrenville is accepting applications for an Accountant position.

The Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of complex analytical and technical functions related to general accounting, purchasing, financial reporting, and other fiscal activities. Work involves calculating, verifying, posting, and balancing a variety of financial transactions.   This position provides exceptional service within the organization and to external customers, including promoting a positive image of the City, fostering a collaborative, respectful, and service-minded working environment, and consistently exhibiting professionalism and integrity through the community. Other duties of a general office nature are also performed.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
The job description contains additional information about this position and is available to view in the Attached File link.  Applicants for the position of Accountant must meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field; 
  • At least two (2) years of experience in finance or accounting-related work, municipal environment preferred; or 
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.

Salary and Benefits

The hiring range is $72,026 - $78,778, the starting salary will be dependent upon experience.  This is a full-time, Exempt position.  The City of Warrenville offers a comprehensive benefits package for employees and their dependents including:

Work Schedule and Information

Schedule is generally Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Attendance at evening meetings and special meetings, as needed.
