JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Assistant Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift. The Assistant Production Supervisor, supervises employees to maximize employee safety, food quality, and productivity. Key responsibilities include daily safety observations, production monitoring, lot control, inventory accuracy, reporting, sanitation, housekeeping, and adherence to standard operating procedures. Assures correct preparation of products and finished goods. Shared responsibility for Safety training, new methods e.g. 5 S, standardize work and methods improvements.

 

This position will require the employee to work overtime as needed. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Conduct safety line inspections, department safety audits, safety meetings
  • Create daily and overtime schedules
  • Delegate responsibilities to line group leaders and other employees
  • Quality (high quality production, quality audits, clean environment) HACCP, Verification of CCP's
  • Assist in performing new hire orientation trainings
  • Report and review employee disciplinary issues with supervisor
  • Sanitation and housekeeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years within a production environment, preferably lead experience
  • Experience within Food and beverage industry preferred
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience, preferred BA/BS
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Capability to prioritize and organize workload
  • Ability to foster teamwork
  • Good verbal & written communication skills are required
  • Basic computer skills within programs such as Microsoft Office and the internet are required

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection).
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate heavy equipment.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures and be able to discern differences between red/green/amber.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Manufacturing environment with some allergen products

 

The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.

The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.

The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to heat.
