Picture West Chicago is an ametuer photo contest for patrons in the West Chicago Library District. Each quarter we will assign a subject or theme to photograph. Photos may be taken with a phone or camera but may not be edited or touched up (other than cropping). We will display one photo per person (anonymously) in the Adult Services Department at the library so patrons can vote for their favorite! Each quarter's winner will be announced on the library's social media and featured in the library for the remainder of the month.
The Illinois General Assembly recently passed House Bill 5228, one of the most significant revisions to the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act in recent years. Governor J.B. Pritzker signed the bill into law in early August, 2026. The new legislation- Public Act104-0792- will require employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to modify certain claims handling practices, particularly those involving disputed medical treatment. This session will explore these changes and the practical implications to defending a claim including IMEs and utilization reviews.
